About the Neverest Girls
The Neverest Girls are a group of passionate female runners based in Chamonix. We're not elite athletes, but we push ourselves to our own personal limits. We love nothing more than running in the mountains encouraging each other and enjoying the views. Running for us is not a solitary pursuit, but a team effort. Running is our passion, our support system, our freedom. We work hard, play hard, run hard. And we know how lucky we are!
Unfortunately, not everyone is able to join in on the fun. This year we're on a mission to raise a stack of cash and awareness for the charity Kennedy's Disease UK. How? By spending 6 days running across the mountains of Colorado competing in The Transrockies Run 2015. That's right, you didn't think we were going to hang up our trail running shoes just yet did you?
After our adventure to Nepal in 2014, to run the highest marathon on the planet, The Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon, in aid of A Chacun Son Everest, we decided to take on another big challenge. On August 11th 2015, The Neverest Girls will be toeing the line of the epic 6 day stage race, The Transrockies run USA. The race takes place in the rugged Colorado mountains, passing through legendary ranges and towns, such as the notorious Leadville. The girls will be running close to a marathon a day, for 6 days in a row, at high altitudes and over tough, technical terrain. This is not your average running race! Even for a fit group of girls who are used to running long distances on mountain trails, the Transrockies will be an enormous physical and mental challenge.
About Our Chosen Charity
KDUK is not yet a fully set up, but it is happening right now! For the time being all funds raised will go to UCL (University College London). UCL has a great team of people working specifically on Kennedy's Disease and are trying to find a cure and a way to stop Kennedy's Disease. Our trip to America is self funded and all proceeds from the Neverest Girls go straight to charity.
